It cannot be self-defence

An expert panel called for by the family of Ethem Sarisuluk who was killed by a shot to the head in Ankara in June reported that the shooting cannot be self-defence. Investigating the footage of the shooting they said two shots were fired to the air by the police officer but for the third short his gun was parallel to the ground and targeted to Sarisuluk’s head. The report was prepared by Prof Klaus Stanjeck at the Konrad Wolf Film and TV School in Potsdam in Germany.

The report also refutes the assertion used for the defence of the police officer that a stone hitting his hand changed the trajectory of the bullet (from air to Sarisuluk’s head).
