The first LGBT protest in Dersim

On 28th July 2013, Dersim had its first LGBT protest. People joined together, walked and danced against homophobia, transphobia, murders of hatred and all the social and environmental issues such as building new police stations and dams in Turkey.


The protest was organized by KeSKeSor LGBT. Many organizations e.g. Socialist Women Assemblies, New Democratic Woman, The Rhythms of Resistance have supported the event.

Whilst pointing out that women and LGBT are often exposed to the state violence in Turkey, the protesters demanded ” We want to come together with all our comrades at a mutual platform where there is no sexual discrimination, homophobia and transphobia.”
